The AJ Sport is a joint effort between AeroJones Aviation USA and AeroJones Aviation Technology Taiwan. If the AJ Sport looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s an evolution of the CTLS platform originally by FlightDesign Gmbh, which has been flown by over 1,900 pilots in 40+ countries. AeroJones Aviation Technology Taiwan, the major composite parts supplier for the AJ Sport, purchased the rights and tooling from FlightDesign in 2016, and the original design was restricted to the Pacific market. However, the AJ Sport has evolved significantly as a combined effort, with a safe foundation and matured systems engineering making it more solid and reliable than before.
Since 2016, we’ve improved cabin space, fuel economy, and cutting-edge safety features. This includes a completely redesigned fuel system to reduce vapor lock, new engine cowling for better cooling, larger wingspan with curved winglets for better slower speed handling, and VGs for lower stall speed and softer controlled landings. Every detail, from the Carbon-Kevlar Safety Cell to the full-airframe parachute system, is engineered to protect you and your passenger. Cruise effortlessly at 110 knots at 75% power or opt for maximum fuel economy at 100 knots sipping less than 4 gallons per hour. With a 34-gallon fuel capacity, you have the freedom to fly over 830 nautical miles non-stop and still have a 30-minute reserve. Meanwhile, your fuel is safely stored in the wings, away from the fuselage, providing an added protection for you and your passenger.
